Penny Slinger

Penny Slinger born 1947 London is a Los Angeles-based artist who has been exploring feminism, eroticism and mysticism in her art for nearly sixty years. Her early work was inspired by Surrealism, she went on to study and incorporate Tantra into her life and work. She continues to work in many mediums including collage, photography, drawing, sculpture/assemblage, performance arts and video, focusing on the liberation of the feminine. When a student at Chelsea College of Art she wrote her thesis on Max Ernst and Roland Penrose became her patron. She lived and worked in London during the 1970,  moved to US in the late '70s, then to the Caribbean where she resided until 1994. She lived in Northern California until 2017, when she moved to Los Angeles. Her work is in many prominent collections, including Tate Britain. She was with Blum and Poe until 2024 and is currently represented by Richard Saltoun Gallery in UK.
